It’s very easy to turn a staycation into a mini-architecture field trip! This one was designed around a stay at the Century Plaza Hotel designed by Minoru Yamasaki. There were many other noteworthy architectural buildings near the hotel including the iconic Century Towers, also by Yamasaki.

Downtown Honolulu is architecture rich with a diversity of styles. We managed to capture a fine historic building and two Brutalist buildings in our short walk to our Uber ride.

Neighborhood Field Trip - Eagle Rock

There is a lovely neighborhood in Eagle Rock just below the 134 freeway. It’s a small 2 mile stretch with an eclectic mix of residential architecture.
