Modern Pasadena

It’s been hot these past couple weeks, in the 90s to 100s, yet still I venture outdoors most days. In the nearby residential neighborhoods, we are fortunate to have shade provided by tree canopies and high privacy hedges and walls. Lately, I’ve been capturing a lot of images that show off modern Pasadena and nearby cities.

I plan a weekly morning visit to Descanso Gardens to walk in the shaded Oak Grove and Ancient Forest. Sitting on a bench to listen to the Sky Beneath Our Feet is a much needed time of meditation in nature.

Before heading back to Pasadena, I may stop to photo interesting architecture along the way, often mid-century churches and residences.

Last week I found a running route that takes me to a vantage point that offers a view of downtown LA (DTLA) in the distance. While I don’t plan to run from home to DTLA in the near future, I do plan to venture by foot into the LA neighborhoods that border Pasadena.
