With a small amount of pre-planning, an architecture field trip can be part of the commute! On the way to lunch in Irvine, I managed to cover a lot of ground in the City of Fullerton in the span of a couple hours - City Hall, a church, two colleges and a bank.

Hawaii Architecture - Kahala Residential

Just a couple miles from where my parents live in Honolulu, Kahala is a favorite neighborhood for me to jog.

This trip new mid-century discoveries were made - an A-frame by Wimberly and Cook, several historic residences by Vladimir Ossipoff, and one by Hal Whitaker.

A Trio of Spiritual Places

Happened to be in the Wilshire/Korea Town part of LA to meet a friend for lunch and thought I’d stop by the mid-century Founder’s Church of Religious Science designed by Paul R. Williams before our meetup. After lunch I had time to stop by two other spiritual places on the way home. It was a good day!
